Summary

As Creative Lead, I led a multidisciplinary team of UX/UI designers, visual designers, and animators. My role spanned the full creative process — from initial research and information architecture (IA) through art direction, interaction design, animation, and final delivery.

Goals

Lizard Labs wanted to launch a Web3 product that would:

Deliver seamless wallet integration with minimal friction.
Provide a delightful, intuitive user experience supported by smooth micro-interactions.
Build a consistent visual identity across platforms and use cases.

Process

‍

Research & IA

Conducted competitor analysis and user interviews to understand expectations around crypto wallets and digital ownership. Defined the product’s information architecture to ensure clarity and logical user flows.

Design system creation

Developed a scalable design system covering typography, color, components, and interaction patterns. This system streamlined collaboration between design and development teams, ensuring consistency across touchpoints.

UX & UI execution

Guided the design team in creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs. Designed with accessibility and responsiveness in mind to support different devices and formats.

Animation & interaction

Directed animators to create subtle hover states, transitions, and micro-interactions that added delight without impacting performance. Oversaw the export and optimization process to ensure animations worked seamlessly across web formats.

Challenges & Solutions

Animation export & hover states

Challenge: Ensuring animations exported correctly for web formats without losing fidelity.
‍Solution: Worked closely with developers to standardize WebM export settings and created fallback states to ensure smooth, reliable interactions.

Wallet integration

Challenge: Crypto wallet integrations often create friction and confusion for users.
‍Solution: Simplified onboarding flows, clear signposting, and reassuring microcopy reduced drop-off rates.

Cross-team collaboration

Challenge: Multiple specialists (designers, animators, developers) working in parallel risked inconsistency.
Solution: The design system became a single source of truth, aligning teams on visual style, behavior, and interaction logic.
