Case Study — Web3 Application
My Role
As the Creative Lead, I managed and guided a multidisciplinary team of UX/UI designers, visual designers, and animators. My responsibility spanned the full creative process: from initial research and information architecture (IA) through to the art direction, interaction design, animation, and final delivery.
Goals
Lizard Labs wanted to launch a web3 product that would:
- Deliver a seamless wallet integration with minimal friction.
- Provide a delightful, intuitive user experience supported by smooth micro-interactions.
- Build a consistent visual identity across platforms and use cases.
Process
- Conducted competitor analysis and user interviews to understand expectations around crypto wallets and digital ownership.
- Defined the product’s information architecture to ensure clarity and logical flows.
- Developed a scalable design system covering typography, color, components, and interaction patterns.
- This system streamlined collaboration between design and development teams, ensuring consistency across touchpoints.
- Guided the design team in creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
- Designed with accessibility and responsiveness in mind to support different devices and formats.
- Directed animators to create subtle hover states, transitions, and micro-interactions that added delight without slowing performance
- Oversaw the export and optimization process to ensure animations worked seamlessly across web formats
Challenges & Solutions
- Challenge: Ensuring animations exported correctly for web formats without losing fidelity.
- Solution: Worked closely with developers to standardize export settings Webm files and created fallback states to ensure smooth interactions.
- Challenge: Crypto wallet integrations often create friction and confusion.
- Solution: Simplified onboarding flows, clear signposting, and reassuring microcopy reduced drop-off rates.
- Challenge: Multiple specialists (designers, animators, developers) working in parallel risked inconsistency.
- Solution: The design system became our single source of truth, aligning everyone on visual style, behavior, and interaction logic.
Outcomes
- A cohesive, scalable design system now serving as the foundation for Lizard Labs’ ongoing product development.
- A smooth wallet integration process that reduced user friction and boosted user confidence.
- A polished digital product experience where design, animation, and usability came together seamlessly.
This was a very successful project for the company and the Web3 industry as a whole.
